Notes
A close neighbor of Jeremiah and Catherine Harrison in the general Linville Creek section of old Augusta co, Va. She left a Will, dtd Sep 3, 1744, not proved until Mar 15, 1770, She named her son, Robert Patterson and his children Mary Patterson; dau Jane Love; granddaughters Margaret Dollinson and Ester (Esther) Harrison; daughter Elizabeth; son-in-law Daniel Love; son Samuel Adams; Executors: Robert Patterson and Samuel Adams (will Book No. 4 p. 301, Augusta co). Tunis Hood Family p. 464. We, the children of Margaret Adams, have reserved of the exeter the full of all legasy, Daniel Love, Jane Love and Ester Harrison. On Feb 1, 1770, I, Robert R Patterson of North Carolina, Tryon Co, son of Wm Patterson deceased, do disclaim any right or title to said land taken up by Margaret Adams, the widow of John Adams, deceased. Teste: Francis Adams, J.P. North Carolina, Tryon Co. Samuel Adams qualified as exec with Joseph Dicton and John Madison, Jr, as bondsmen. 15 May 1770 Samuel Adams of NC to Joseph Dictum power of attorney to convey 340 acres on Linvel's Creek, devised by Margaret Adams and from her descended to Samuel Adams. Will Book No. 1, Augusta co May 1748, Margaret Adams bond as admin of the estate of Samuel Adams deceased. Therefore Samuel Adams, Jr. grandson of Margaret rec"d legacy. [S320]
