Took an active part in promoting the Revolution in 1688, and the accession of William III and Mary, to the throne of England. Was Colonel in the Guards and Brig.Gen. 1701. Member of Parliament for the Co. of York, which seat he was obliged to relinquish at "The Union", upon ceasing to be a commoner in England.

Apparently Eleanor stayed in Limestone while her husband and at least some of her children went to AR first. Her son William A. returned to Limestone to bring his mother back to AR after the death of his father but became ill and died in Limestone. She was living with her son John Toole Craig at the time of her death.
