Gideon apparently was first married to a Martha ? The first five children appear to be by her: William, Sarah, Jordan, Gideon and Reuben.

The remaining children appear to be by Mary O'Connell: Mary, Samuel, James, Elizabeth, Edna, Rachel, Cynthis, Randall, and David. Some say that there was only one wife - MARY MARTHA O'CONNEL.
