Probably born in Jamestown, Amelia County, Virginia, as his brothers (parents were married in Jamestown, Amelia, County). Following: Bounty Land File 23438 Possibility that this Benjamin Webber was a private in Capt. Kirk's company in first regiment of Tennessee mounted gunmen in the Seminole war in 1818, that he volunteered in Rutherford County, TN in February 1818 to serve for six months, that he mustered at Fayettville, TN Feb 1818 and served until April 1818 - became a resident of Jefferson County, Ill at age 56. A Benjamin Webber, Private, August 15, 1812 to Oct. 14, 1812 appeared on roll of Capt. James C. Price's Co., Lewis' Reg't. Kentucky Volunteers of War of 1812.
Rutherford County, Tennessee records show a deed from Benjamin Webber to B.B. Dickens, book U page 40 in the year 1824. Don't know if this is the same Benjamin Webber, but believe it is.
