"Memorial Record of Alabama", vol 2, pp. 959-61, Bio identifies JTH as one of the oldest medical practitioners in Talladega Co. AL, a son of John T. Harrison and Melinda Stone. Dr. J. T. Harrison was reared in Madison Co., AL and in 1852 began the study of medicine with his brother Dr. W. B. Harrison of Guntersville, AL, remaining there till 1855, when he entered the Nashville Medical College. After 18 months there, he set up a practice in Marshall Co. AL, where he remained for 13 years, when he moved to Talladega Co. AL in 1869 and where he was living in 1893.
"Historic Tales of Talladega" by E. Grace Jemison (Montgomery: Paragon, 1959), pp. 304-5. States that Dr. J. T. Harrison settled near Munford, Talladega Co., in 1869. he practiced medicine widely in the upper part of the county, and with his son Dr. W. Groce Harrison opened the first sanatarium in Talladega. Pp. 309-310 identify the sanatarium as Harrison Sanatarium, originally located at the J. M. Lewis home in the Highlands of Talladega, then moved to the Manning home on South St. closed on 1 March 1905.

This Michael Hooter apparently married into a wealthy family, Nancy Loveless of Catahoula Parish, LA. She was the daughter of John Loveless. She died 9 Dec. 1831, 64 years old. Her daughter Barbara married E. Hill.
He is buried at Hooter Bayou, Sicily Island, Catahoula Parish, LA. See 1799-1800 Religeous Census of Rapides Parish, LA. 1810 Census of Catahoula Parish, LA. 1820-30 Census of Catahoula Parish. Military Census Post of Rapides Parish. Another death date is 7 Apr 1817.
