Worth Ray indicated that this James Harrison m. Jenny Todd (see Jane "Jenny" Todd) - many other researchers believe that to be a different James Harrison than this one.
In his application for Rev. war pension: He wrote he was born in Culpeper co. Va. in 1755. Grew up in Amherst co. and for the last 20 years Lived in Rockbridge co in part that was Botetourt co. this was in 1832 so not sure if the children were born in another part of Botetourt co. or Amherst co. His number is S5496. I think he was married to Mary Penn . His cousin James was married to Jenny Todd she was born in 1749.
In the will of Battaile, James was willed the farm in Amherst co. In the marriages of his sisters they say John and his brother James Jr were there and their father was James.
James served with the Amherst Militia, including guarding British prisoners-of-war at Albemarle barracks. He was present when Cornstalk was killed at Point Pleasant in 1777. In 1832 he lived in Rockbridge Co. VA.

This marriage occurred, but whether these are the right people is not certain.
