Mother: Lucinda Ann (Lucy) FOGG |
Dec 19, 1883: "A frightful accident occured last Tuesday evening at the gin of Mr. Joe Harrison, one mile from Athens. It seems his daughter, Miss Nannie, was at the the gin and through a spirit of fun, got on the lever to ride when she was caught between the lever and a gallows, which is part of the power, frightfully tearing her right thigh, cutting the entire muscle to pieces. The doctor does not think the bones were broken, but she is crippled for life." [S44]
