WILL OF BENJAMIN HARRISON

The Last and Testament of Benjamin Harrison of Richland District South Carolina.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN.

I, Benjamin Harrison, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and discretion, do hereby make, constitute and publish this to be my last will and testament.

First -- to my faithful and beloved wife, Mary, I give, devise and bequeath my whole estate, real and personal, of whatsoever it may consist of (at) my death, to be enjoyed by her during her life if she remain unmarried --- or doing her widowhood if she should marry again.

Second -- if my said wife marry again then I give, devise and bequeath to her half my said estate, the other half to be equally divided amongst my children by her, share and share alike but if mywife do(es) not marry again then immediately after her death it is my will and desire that my estate be equally divided share and share alike between my children by her the child or children of such as may then be dead leaving a child or children to have the share the parent would have been entitled to if alive.

Third -- I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary sole executrix of this, my last will and testament, with full power and authority as executrix to sell and dispose of every part of my estate that she may think it for the interest of my family to sell and to buy with the money and other property she may think best, which property is to be a part of my estate and divided as above.

Fourth -- If my said wife choose, she may advance at her discretion any of our children that may marry or settle off, but she must take a receipt from the child so it advanced for value of the property so given, which is to be in part of the share of the child so advanced, when a division of my estate is made.

Sealed, Published and Declared to be the Will of Benjamin Harrison by him in the presence of us and each of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names at witnesses.

Personally appeared John M. Carter and made oath that he saw Benjamin Harrison sign, seal, publish and declare the within instrument of writing to be his last will and testament that he was then of sound and deposing mind, memory and understanding according to the best of this deponent's knowledge and believe and that he with Elizabeth H. M. Carter and Franklin H. Elmore at the request of the testator in his presence and in the presence of each other witness the due execution thereof.
