In book RECORDS OF WILCOX Co., ALABAMA, we know that Mary Amanda Salter first married Richard K. Polk. The marriage performed by Jesse Lee, JP, the uncle of the bride and Aaron S. Lee as security, also the uncle. There were no children of this marriage, the groom apparently died before her remarriage to John Clunan. Date was Jan 19, 1843
