In 1681, in the dissensions which culminated in the revolution of 1689, George Godfrey was accused of leading an attempt to rescue from prison the former Governor, Captain Josiah Fendall. His estate was conficated, and later he was given 150 acres of land called Troop's Rendezvous. By deed Nov 13, 1707, he conveyed to Francis Adams and Mary for his daughter part of a tract of land called Troop's Rendezvous in Charles Co, comprising 100 acres, a gift acknowledged in court in 1704, and probably a marriage portion. George Godfrey resided up to the time of death on Tropps Rendezvous well over 85 years of age. [S320]
