Notes

Lura attended Athens Female Academy and was recognized for her outstanding abilities in music, including piano and voice. In 1887 she won a medal for "greatest proficiency" in music. They lived in Tucumcarie before moving to Camden, AR. On Nov 16, 1933 Aunt Lutie asked to borrow $75 from Jack Lindsay to help pay her taxes just after the stockmarket crash. "I've never known anything like it. Wish we didn't own a foot of land. We could kinder get along if we did not. Takes everything to pay taxes and insurance. I really expect times to be better tho, I feel very optimistic about prosperity being brought about."
