Notes

Settled directly on the early Indian Road about a mile south of his father, on the Valley Pike, a short distance from Lacey Springs. One of the Justices named to the Court of Augusta, and was a Captain in the Rockingham Militia.

Served as Captain of a company of the Lower battalion of the Augusta Co. VA, Militia 1776-1777. (Vol.30 p.400 VA Mag of Hist & Bio; Vol I,p. 93, Abstracts from Records of Augusta Co. VA; Historical Registar of VA in the Rev, p. 355.
