In 1822 and 1823 William sold his property in North Carolina and moved to Green County, Alabama settling near the village of Clinton. He farmed land near the Tombigbee River, and the census of 1830 shows that he owned three slaves. Williams' will was written in 1851, he died in 1865. William Harrison was blind for several years before before his death .
