Died on the thirtieth day of March 1862 (Sabbath evening) shortly after having retired for the night our beloved mother Eliza Ann Herbert Cuthbert in the sixty-third year of her ____, leaving at the time of her death, two sons and three daughters (three of her children having been called in early youth and infancy) and having also during her life had as many as thirty three grandchildren. Faithful to her God, to her children, to every duty common to our lot, death though suddenly thrust upon her found her ready and the presence of only one child and her blessed savior were with her in the sad hour of her dissolution. She cannot come to us, but we can go to her. As mother's love last through time and eternity. ^[S553]
