Luke Bromley was living in Warwick, RI and Stonington, Conn on Jan 23, 1648. He probably was born in England.

We know nothing of his wife. See GENERAL DICTIONARY OF NEW ENGLAND, page 259. See AMERICAN GEN, Vol 24. See THE BROMLEY GENEALOGY, by Viola Bromley.

Viola states that his wife may have died before he came to American. He probably arrived before Thomas Stafford, whose dau married Luke Bromley, II and possibly about the same time as Capt. William Billings and Thomas Stanton, who went first to VA and thence to Providence Plantation. Luke's two son were surely born in England.

He may have been a descendant of Sir Thomas Bromley.

Luke Bromley was a millwright, living near Westerly, R. I. He purchased a mill in 1663.
