Isham Harrison was a planter, soldier in War of 1812, moved to Jones Valley, Jefferson Co., AL, 1816; founder of New Canaan Baptist church,1818;Moved to Ruhama where built 1st brick house in Jefferson Co. in 1832; elected to AL legislature 1823-25;moved to Noxubee Co,MS, 1832; president 1st Bd of Commissioners, 1834. Moved to Columbus, MS, 1838; deacon of First Baptist Church. Moved to Aberdeen, MS, 1843. Established Greenwood Plantation, Monroe Co., MS 1850; organized Greenwood Baptist Church, 1851. Both buried in Aberdeen Cemetery. ^[S14]
