Notes

According to Ruth Baldwin White there were three other children in

this marriage. Matilda May NORTHCOTE survived four of her children

including Emily. According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, James

arrived around 1858 According to the Hawley birthday book Matilda was

born 25 Ap 1839 and died at age 79 in 1918- but something noteworthy

happened in 1885- since the entry for James Northcote also lists 1885

I'm assuming it's the marriage date According to 'Hist of Kings Cty'-

James b in Hammerton, came to US in 1856 and related- father side- to

James Northcote, famous hist painter (contemp of Boswell )
