George's will names only sons. No mention of wife, so assumption she predeceased him and daughter's if any, we given dowry at marriage. Jane's solicitude of James is basis of possible Harrison maiden name, before marriage to John Clement
Executors of George's will were Sam Rust and Sam DeMouville.DeMouvele (sp. various ways) , a French Huguenot, came to Northern Virginia before the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685. In his will, Feb 4, 1723, Demouville left his daughter ELIZABETH HARRISON, 140 acres
George was listed as a child of Anthony (ID# 987) by Tenn Cousins but other references indicated George (ID# 1015) is a child of John Harrison. We are currently using Otey and Houston Harrison's conclusions on this family. More research is necessary to determine actual ancestry. See ID# 6346.
#1019/1030: Geo & Ann Rust.
The first member of the Harrison Family in Westmoreland was John Harrison who came to the Colony of VA about 1654 with his brother Dr. Jeremiah Harrison and his wife Frances Wingreave. Dr. Jeremiah Harrison settled in York Co, but did not survive long. In 1654 his widow Frances Wingreave Harrison patented 1000 a. land in Westmoreland Co. and later married Giles Brent, as his 2nd wife, but had no issue of either marriage. per Lovell Families of Westmoreland; T
John Harrison on Sept 4, 1655 also patented 1000 a. in Westmoreland, which patent stated "for want of heirs to sister Mrs. Frances Harrison. They came of a family widely spread throughout eastern counties of England that previous to coming this family had furnished already two emigrants at least who had founded Harrison families in VA, Benjamin Harrison and Richard Harrison. This was doubtless the beginning of their connection in the Northern Neck. The Will of John Harrison has not been found but there can be little doubt he was the father of George Harrison who made his will in Westmoreland County Oct 2, 1713 (Tylers Quarterly V. 6, pp. 203-4)
George, will proved, 1713, Westmoreland Co. m. ANN Rust, dau of Samuel, whose will proved 1717, same county. [S18] [S417] [S419]
