Notes

Prince Georges County, VA was formed in 1702 from part of CHARLES CITY COUNTY. In the beginning, Charles City stretched west from the James River to the Blue Ridge Mountains and south to the Carolina border. From it were formed Brunswick (1720), Amelia (1734), Dinwiddie (1752), and then Lunenburg, Greenville, Nottoway, Prince Edward, Halifax, Bedford, Charlotte, Mecklenburg, Pittsylvania, Henry, Patrick, Campbell, and Franklin Counties.

The ancestors of Benjamin and William HARRISON of Brunswick Co., VA have not yet been determined. It has not been proven that these two HARRISONs were brothers. There appear to be 4 lines of HARRISON in Brunswick. John Harrison, Benjamin, Sr. of Cock's Creek, William HARRISON (likely brother of Benjamin), and Gabriel HARRISON who moved to Brunswick from Prince George Co., VA. Records are placed on this family card simply to make it easier to find them and no relationship is intended or implied unless stated in the individual notes. All input welcomed. [S51]
