Mother: Anna C. YOUNG |
Frances Anna "Fannie" Long was born in Augusta Texas on February 3, 1871. She was the youngest child of John and Ann (Young) Long. Her mother died shortly after she was born and her grandmother, Anna Long, lived with the family to help raise the children. Fannie was also raised with four of her cousins, children of her Uncle Hugh Long, who had died on his-way home from the Civil War. Her cousin, John Samuel Long, recalled how his grandmother would get him up in the middle of the night to build a fire so that the bottle could be warmed for the baby, Fannie.
About 1890 Fannie married Nathaniel Bailey McClenny and the family moved to Moscow, Texas where her husband worked was a bookkeeper at the Bender Mills close by. ...In February, 1902, Fannie's husband died suddenly and she was left with four small children. She moved to Tyler and ran a boarding house until her second marriage to Seymour Maynard. To this union was born one child, a daughter Katie Lee. Fannie Maynard died in Moscow, Texas in 1905 of typhoid fever.
