Notes
In 1850 John and Martha both were listed as born in N.C. In 1860, they were listed as born in VA. They lived on a mountain called Fishers Peak which is on the VA., N.C. border and includes Carroll and Grayson Counties,Va., and Surry County, NC.
Local legend is that a lot of them are buried in a little cemetary on Fishers Peak but graves there are only marked with a big rock. Another family "story" is that three Harrison brothers came over from England,landed probably in Charleston S.C., one of them went to TN., one to N.C., and one was hanged, and we are decended from the one that came to N.C. But I know of no way to prove or disprove this. [S1347]
