John Peterson3, son of John2 Peterson and - -. A John Peterson in Prince George married Frances (surname unknown); and had two children whose births are listed in the Bristol Parish Register. By 1732, a John Peterson had married Martha Thweatt and had issue. There is disagreement among the genealogists of the Peterson family as to whether this represents father and son; or whether it is the same John Peterson who was married twice. This point cannot be clarified in the fragmentary records of Prince George County. Figures, after names, indicating the generation, after the first John Peterson, are omitted hereafter in this branch, because of the uncertainty indicated above. In 1723, John Peterson3, Jr., was Adm. of Mary Eppes, widow of John Eppes. It is possible that John Peterson Jr's wife was related to this Mary EPPES. [S897]
