200 Years Tennessee

I found a great Bicentennial song CD at the Post Office "A Taste of 
Tennessee".

Commemorates Tennessee 200 Year anniversary and

includes 4 commemorative stamps in a beautiful stamp folio.

All for $4.95.

Plus a little TN history I'd like to share:

Tennessee takes its name from the Cherokee village of Tanasi,

the capital of the Cherokee Nation from 1721 to 1730.

Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Shawnee Indians were also original 

inhabitants. 

  In 1796, Tennessee became the sixteenth state to enter the Union.

It is known as "The Volunteer State" because so many

Tennesseeans served as volunteer soldiers during the 

War of 1812.  Today, it is a state so diverse in its geographic and 

cultural elements that it resembles a miniature America.
