William Monroe Ellis 1818-1902 & Lucy Bowling 1824-1911.
The cedar in the center of the picture is
still many yards away. For years, it has marked the graves of William
Monroe & Lucy (BOWLING) ELLIS. In the forefront is a sample of the
treefall in the area. The graves were unreachable that day, and to top
it off, a second ELLIS cousin with us that day got infested with
chiggers as we climbed. If you have photos of the graves to share, I would love to hear from you (see tntype.com for contact info).
