The Earliest Confirmed Ancestor for this participant is Ruben C. Harrell, born 1827 in Alabama,  probably Jefferson or Pickens county. Died in 1892.  First married to Mary Jane Duncan Cockrell, Dec. 27, 1848 in Tuscaloosa co., Alabama. Served in the Alabama Calvary during the Civil War. Need to prove if James Harrell of Ky is father of Ruben C. Harrell

This participant traces his line to william of Wythe through; William born abt. 1794 in Wythe co., Va., George Washington Harrell, born 1833 in Wythe co., Va., Henry Levi Herrell, born 1860 in Benton co. Arkansas, Thomas Levi Herrell, born 1889 Collin co. Texas, Clifford James Herrell born Feb. 6, 1909 Jefferson co. Oklahoma, Participant born 1936, McClain County, Oklahoma. This participant has traced his line back to Dr. Edmund Harrell b. abt. 1809, Franklin co. Indiana and died 1857, New Boston, Mercer co. Illinois. Further research indicates that Edmund Harrell was a son of Chester Harrell b. 1756 in Augusta/ Frederick co. Va.. This information indicates a relationship to William Harrell who married Susannah Chester in Northern Va.. Search for proof that William Harrell was a son of Richard Harrell, Sr. of Augusta co. This Participant has proven his line back to Moses Harrell and Elizabeth of VA& Ky, This line is thought to have come from Northern Va. as it matches the DNA of proven descendents of William Harrell who died in Wythe co., Va. in 1822.. Proof that William of Wythe came from northern Va. has yet to be found..  GLH


This Participant descends from William Harrell , the oldest son of Reuben Harrell and Rebecca Smith who were married in Shenandoah co. Va. about 1770. Reuben Harrell was born about 1751 in Frederick co. Va. Rebecca Smith was born about 1753 in Frederick co. Va. They had thirteen children, all born in Va.. Reuben Harrell came to the New River area of Fincastle co. Va. after the Rev. War and records are found in Montgomery, Wythe and Washington co. Va..He died in Washington co. Va. in August, 1825.. Rebecca moved to Kentucky and lived with their children there until she died 12, March 1842.. Further Information is available. GLH


This line connects by research to John Harrell who settled in Hawkins co. Tennessee where he died and left a will which names his sons, John and Enoch and several daughters.. The participant for this test # 92979 descends from Willis B. Harrell who was born about 1797 and died in Hawkins co. Tennessee about 1830.  This line matches the line of William and Reuben Harrell and efforts are under way to identify their lines in Northern Va,,  GLH
