My Harradine ancestors lived in Oakington in Cambridgeshire for at least three generations before one family emigrated to Australia in 1887.  They settled in Lithgow NSW but my great Grandfather moved to the big smoke of Sydney.  The next generation grew up in the suburb of Glebe and from there my grandfather moved his family to Punchbowl and then to North Curl Curl.

My ancestor Gabriel Nixon came from Bladon to Australia as a widower with 6 children in the 1840s and settled in the Armidale area of NSW.

Cornelius (Cannell) Hensby and his family lived in the area from the mid 1840s.  Isaac and Rose Jackson owned the first store in Longueville Road in the early 1900s.

At least three generations of Harradines lived here before my great, great grandparents David and Susanna Harradine brought their family out to Australia in 1887.

William Albert (Bill) Harradine built a house in the 1940s that saw two generations of Harradines grow up.

James Mills settled here around 1840.  His daughter Mary Mills is claimed to be the first white child born in the area. I haven’t been able to prove or disprove this yet.
