My Richert Family

I am in the process of typing out the family book and putting it online, as I like the
way it was done compared to the way my pages are done now. I still will not be
putting in anyone who is still alive. I will keep the numbering system that Mary Hitchens
used in the book so that as I receive information on someone who has died I can
then add there information without having to re-do the whole thing. I will also include
the table of contents and I'll add the link as the pages are done.
NOTE: This is taking longer than I thought it would. With our move to Kentucky
at the end of 2000 I hadn't had time since then to get back into typing out the pages
of the book. I'm hoping that within the next few weeks I will be able to start back on it.

I've been thinking about adding some family photos. I love looking at old photos. If
any family members would like to have their photos added, if you have them already
scanned into your computer just e-mail them to me and let me know who is in the
photo and the date of the photo if possible. I will place your name next to the photo
so people will know that you have the original. Also, if there is anything any family
members would like to see please e-mail me and let me know.

My Richert family book; History and Recollections Jacob Richert 1814-1901;
was done in 1984 by a wonderful woman named Mary Hitchens.
My Richert family came from Imbshiem, France. Which was German occupied on
several occasions. My grandmother spoke German. As my Dad put it, when she would
get mad she would get on them in German. I wish I had had the opportunity
to have gotten to know her better. I was born in Corydon, IN while she
lived in New Albany, IN. Then when I was 6 years old we moved to Florida.
I didn't see her too much after that. But when I received the Richert book in the
mail I was thrilled to death to have it so I sat down and read it from cover to cover.
When I read about how close the family was I realized how much I missed by
living so far away from her.
