Hanks of Painswick in the County of Gloucester being through the abundant mercy and goodness of God, the ----aly in body yet of a sound and perfect understanding and memory do continue this my last will and testament and desires it to be received by all as such: Imprionis ? as follows I give to my Son John A suffitant sum of Money to Prentice him to such a Trade that he should like and likewise a Large Straw Chair which I sit in and one third of the effects which will be due to me after the decease of Mary Hanks fa---d The Houses & Lands Called Haywards and likewis e House Malthouse & Shop called Dobbins nes and the Other two shares out of Dobbins & Hayward Likewise Mary & Elizabeth Hanks as the above & the Money to paid to each of them when they come of Age & Elizabeth Hanks the Wife of the said Joseph Hanks is to receive the Intrest of the Money after the Decease of Mary Hanks the Mother of the Above said Joseph Hanks And for ten pounds to be left in W Zacharias Powells hands to be paid on demand for the prenticing of my son John Hanks and the the residue of my personal Effects then remaining that My fuuneral Expences shall be paid at my Decease & that one half of the money then remaining be paid to my Wife Elizabeth Hanks & that the other half be gave at such & such Times as we see Needfull for the support of the Children Nov 6 1817 And I Appoint Mr. Zacharias Powell & My Brother Charles Hanks as Trust to see my Will Executed in every Thing Witness His Mark # Richd Blackwell Sampson Gundmen?
Painswick in the County of Gloucester Yeoman - I direct my past debts and funeral and testamenting Expences to be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease out of my personal Estate I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Hanks all my live and dead farming Stock and implements and all my household furniture Stock in trade and Effects in and about my house at Painswick in which I now live and all other my personal Estate during her life and I declare that she shall not be answerable or responsible for any part thereof that maybe last consumed Expended or worn out during her life And after her decease I bequeath the household furniture Stock in trade and Effects which shall be in and about my said house at Painswick at the time of my decease or to much there of as shall be in Existence at the time of the decease of my said Wife to my daughter Sarah the Wife of Thomas Barnett for her own use and benefit And I bequeath all other my personal Estate which shall be in Existence at the time of the decease of my said Wife Equally between my said daughters Sarah Barnett and my daughter Jane the wife of Joseph Rich for their -future use and benefit - I give and devise all my messuages lands hiredtaments ? and Real Estate of Every Sort and kind and wheresoever ---- to my said Wife Sarah Hanks for and during the term of her natural life and without impeachment of Waste and after her decease I give and devise the same unto and Equally between my said two daughters Sarah Barnett and Jane Rich and their isfeetive ? Heirs Executors administrators and assigns as Tenants in Common and not as part Tenants. And I appoint my said Wife sole Executrise of this my Will.
