Hanks Wills  of   Naunton

    In the Name of God Amen, I John Hanks of Naunton in the County
    of Glocester Yeoman, being weak in Body, but of perfect Memory do
    make this my last Will in Manner following --- First I bequeath my Soul to
    Almighty God who gave it me and my body to the Earth from whence it came
    and for my worldly Goods I give as followeth. Item, I give all my Estates of
    what kind soever lying in the Parish of Naunton aforesaid or elsewhere to my
    Son Thomas Hanks, to him only and his Heirs and Assigns for ever.
    Item I give all my Goods likewise to my Son Thomas Hanks whom I make
    my Executor of this my last Will.
    In Witness hereof I have set my Mark and Seal this Tenth Day of
    December in the Year of our Lord 1765 The Mark of V John Hanks

    Before the Worshipful James Benson Doctor of Laws Vicar General in Spirituals of
    the Right Reverend Father in God William by Divine permission Lord Bishop
    of the Diocese of Gloucester and of his Episcopal Consistory Official principal
    Lawfully Constituted By Thomas Hanks Son and Sole Executor XX? lawhom? XX?
    having first Sworn well and faithfully to Administer to the said Will and
    also to Exhibit an Inventory and Tender an Account XX?. ----

    In the name of God Amen. I John Hanks of Naunton being weak in
    Body, but of sound and perfect Mind and Memory blessed be Almighty God
    for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in
    Manner and Form following (That is to say) First I give and bequeath
    to my Sister Greece? Wills the Sum of Ten pounds Then I give and
    bequeath to my Nephew Harry Tuckwell sixty pounds and my Large Bible which
    said? several Legalees or Sums of money I will and order Shall be paid
    to the said respective Legalees within Twelve months after my Decease
    and Lastly as to all the rest Residue and Remainder of my personal
    Estate goods Chattels Free Lands Estate of what kind or Nature Soever
    I give and bequeath the Same to my Nephew William Wills
    whom I hereby appoint Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament
    hereby revolking all former Wills by me made - - - But I will that my
    Brother in Law John Wills shall and I do appoint him Executer in
    Trust over my Nephew William Wills till he is of the Eage of
    Twenty and one years . . In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my
    Hand and Seal the seventh Day of August in the Thirty first year of the
    reign of King George the Third and in the year of our Lord 1792

      his Episcopal Consistory Official Principal lawfully constituted
      by John Wells the Executor in Trust & to which he having
      first sworn here & faithfully to administor to the said
      Will as also to Exhibit an Inventory ___end or and account

    I Thomas Hanks of Naunton in the County of Gloucester
    Gentleman do hereby revoke all wills and Testamentary
    Dispositions by me heretofore sweare and do make publish
    and declare this only as and for my last will and testament
    I Give devise and bequeath unto my dear Wife Elizabeth
    Hanks
    All that my freehold messuage with its appurtenances
    situate in Winchcomb Street and Albion Street, Cheltenham
    in the County of Gloucester with its appurtenances And all
    other my messuages lands and tenements And all my household
    furniture plate linen china books money and securities for
    money- and all the rest residue and remainder of my estate
    an effects both real and personal of in or to which I or any
    person or persons in trust for --- shale ? at my decease be seiod?
    possess or entitled in possession were in remainder a
    expectancy To hold the same unto and to the use of my
    said wife her heirs Executors Administrator and Assigns
    according to the nature and quality thereof for ever Subject
    nevertheless to the payment unto my dear Mother of the sum
    of one hundred pounds and all interest therein due upon my
    promissory note to her and also subject to the payment of
    all other my just debts and my funeral and testamentary
    expences And I appoint my said wife sole Executrix of
    this my will I do witness whereof I have to this my
    will set my hand and seal his Eighteenth day of
    August in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred
    and twenty s-----e
