In the Name of God Amen I William Hanks of Lower Swell in the County of Gloucester Malster being infirm of body at this time but of sound mind & memory and understanding (praised be Almightly God for this) Do make and ordain this as for my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say first I resign my Soul to God hopeing and trusting in the Sperits? of Jesus Christ alone to obtain Salvation for my Soul and as for my Body I commmit to the Earth and as for all such things that I am now Possessed of and do enjoy both Real and personal togeather with all my rights Creditts and other Debts owing to me I do hereby give and dispose thereof: I will that my Debts and Funerall Expenses shall be paid and discharged as for concerning? all my Real Estate in Lower Swell I give and devise unto my well Beloved Wife Ann and to her Assignes for Ever to have and to hold all my Real Esta-- whatsoever it be or wheresoever the same be I give and devise the same Real Estate to her and her assigns for ever and that my Wife shall Sell and dispose of the same Estate or otherwise to be of the same Estate or give the same to which of her Children or Child as she will as for and covering? all my personall Estate Goods Chattles Cattle rights Creditts Debts I give and bequeath the same and every part and parsell thereof unto my Well Beloved Wife Ann and that my Wife Ann shall have full power in her self to give and dispose the same at her will and pleasure And I do hereby make and Constitute Ann my Wife whole and Sole Executrise Ratifying and Confirming this as my last will and Testament

Before the Worshipful Sir Henry Penrice Knight's Doctor of Laws Vicar General in Spirituals of the Right Revd Father in God Martin by Diving Permission Lord Bishop of the Dioces of Gloucester and of his Episcopal Consistory Consistory Official Principal Lawfully constitued by Ann Hanks Relict and Sole Executrise and -- so forth to whom and so forth having first Sworn well and faithfully to administer to the said Will and also to Exhibit an Inventory and Render an Account and so forth.
