Sarah MURRAY (1877-1911)


Michael James Shannon 1873-1952

Sarah MURRAY was born in 1877 in Mount Rouse, Victoria. Her parents were listed as Patrick Murray (a boundary rider) and Mary Lewis. Noted that her fathers christian name changed around from James to Patrick on each index listing. (Andrew Black advised he believed Patrick was his middle name).1 She married Michael James SHANNON on 6 July 1895 when he was 22 and she was 18 at the Court House in Hay, NSW. Sarah's father, James Murray provided written consent for the marriage as she was under age.2 She died of pneumonia on 26 July 1911 at the District Hospital in Deniiquin, NSW.3 She was buried on 28 July 1911 at the Catholic Section in Deniliquin Cemetery, NSW.4


Michael James SHANNON was the son of William SHANNON (1844-1923) and Mary KENNEALY-SHAW (1846-1903). He and Sarah MURRAY had the following children:
