My paternal grandparents, George B. & Mary E. (Kenyon) Bingham moved from their Burdette township, Hand County, South Dakota homestead in 1920 to Benson, Swift Co., Minnesota where they built a new home north of town. They resided there until 1926 when the family returned to Hand County. My father, Ross Q. Bingham attended school in Benson from sixth grade until he graduated from Benson High School in 1926. Found among Dad's "treasures" was his 1926 BHS Graduation Announcement, Commencement Program (June 4, 1926) which includes names of entire graduating class, Senior Class Play Program ("BAB - May 6-8), newspaper clippings regarding the opening of BAB, and one stating the class of 1926 was second largest graduating class in the history of Benson High School. Photos shown here include Ross in character as "Eddie Perkins" from BAB, his Senior portrait, plus those of three of his classmates who are unidentified. It's hoped that some family member will discover these and put names to these two beautiful girls and one handsome guy. The little emblem at the top is the BHS sticker on the portrait photos. Vertically to the left is an "HS", and to the right, a "26". This is the same design as the 1926 BHS Class Ring! CSR |
