McKenzie Corners near Debec Junction. He married MARY GREEN.
Notes for Mary Green
Possibly the daughter of Henry and Mary Green of Woodstock ? Mary green Sr. was born about 1770 from her age in the records of widows and soldiers, she died Jan 1 1859.She started recieving pension 1842 so Henry was deceased by that time
Henry Green and his wife Mary adn son Joseph are listed in Records of Old Revolutionary Soldiers and Their Widows at N.B. Archives
There was a Henry Green on Muster Roll of Captain Daniel COZEN’s Company in the 3rd Battalion,New Jersey Volunteers 1781
also a Henry Green on Muster Roll of Captain Francis FRASER's Company of Guides and Pioneers Commanded by Colonel Beverly ROBINSON - 23d February 1779
Henry Green of the Guides and Pioneers had a Land Petition in York, then the Henry Green I believe may be Mary's father has grants in Carleton Co. with sons Joseph and Elijah,(Joseph as mentioned above) There is another Henry Green in Cumberland Co.
There was also a Corporal Henry Green in the The King's New Brunswick Regiment." 1793-1802. Another reason that George DeBeck going off to France seems odd if Henry ended up being his father in law .
It is said that in all of the Provinces of N.B. the population was intensely loyal to British institutions.

Notes for GEORGE DEBECK:
Born in 1783 or 1784 just after the return of the Loyalists to New Brunswick. His father John Ludwig died before or shortly after they
arrived in N.B. A record in Wright's book looks like its says widow ,leading me to believe maybe only the widow Debeck came back
to N.B. George went to France in 1803-1804 to fight for Napoleon .He was wounded in the Battle of Wagram (near Vienna ,Austria)
on July 4-6 1809, according to family he was by then a Captain and was the only officer in his company to survive the battle. He was
awarded the cross of the legion of honour, supposedly by Napoleon himself. When George returned to New Brunswick he
encountered some opposition in the community as a result of his military adventures and because British subjects were not
permitted to hold Napoleonic decorations ,and kept his Grand Cross secret for the rest of his life. After his death in 1862,his
daughter Mary Debeck Baker prepared to leave for a new home in Nova Scotia , she pressed the medal and John Ludwig Debecks
muster rolls into the hands of her sister -in-law Mary Moore Porter Debeck asking that they be given to the laters son Wallace as he
was next in the male line of descent. Wallace later donated the muster rolls to the Canadian National Archives and the medal is now
in the keeping of his son ,Armand DeBeque of DeBeque Colorado.

Notes for GEORGE WARD DEBECK:
George W. Debeck worked in the sawmill business in the California redwoods as a very young man then joined the rest of the family
in British Columbia , to work at Burrard Inlet for 7 years. With his brothers Howard, Warren and Clarence, he built the Brunette Saw
mill in Sapperton, moving after a year to Yale where he was in the hotel business for 18 months .He then worked at lumbering for five
years in Oregon, Washington and then ,Idaho. He then returned to British Columbia in 1886 to do logging and timber cruising and
mining. He was appointed Indian Agent at Alert Bay, and was stationed there in 1906
The story of George W. Debecks ourtship has seen print several times in 1877 he eloped with a 16 year old St. Annes Convent girl
hiring the only cab in New westminister and the onlt tugboat to effect their getaway. He intercepted the line of girls as they were
marched to Church Sunday morning.Mar. 19 quickly helping Miss Keary into the waiting cab,and sped to the Fraser River and the
waiting boat. they were able to escape to port Townsend WA to be married without interference, as George W. had given 2 loggers a
bottle of liquor to cut the telegraph wires and Emma's parents were powerless to send word ahead . it was later theorized that the
two loggers might have comsumed their reward before going about earning it,because they did a very effective job of cutting off New
Westminister 's contact with the rest of the world. Two miles of telegraph wire had been taken down and it was over a week before
service was restored . The romantic young couple returned to be forgiven by their parents and lived to celebrate their 60th wedding
anniversary
