Janet Aikens was the youngest child of David Aikens and Mary Broom ,she was born February 12, 1854 in Ste. Gabriel de Valcartier a village 20 miles outside of Quebec City. She married William Hamilton March 31, 1877 at Quebec Weslayan ,Methodist Church ,Quebec City. They lived in Ste. Gabriel de Valcartier Quebec and raised their children and farmed until 1909 when they followed their daughter Mary Rose and her husband William Jewell ,West to Alyesworth ,Ontario in the Rainy River District .William Hamilton died October 22, 1921 and is buried in Emo Ontario. Janet died October 21, 1949 and is buried with William in the Emo Cemetery. Many of their children's descendants still live in the area today. Children of Janet and William
