| Notes for Emily Isabel WILEY |
| Emily died exactly one month after her brother Rob died, the last of the four siblings. |
| Notes for William Henry Harrison "Tip" (Spouse 1) |
"Tip" was born the same year of the famous political campaign resulting in the election to the presidency of General Wm. Henry Harrison (by the Whig party), for whom he was named and who was during his whole life time familiarly know and addressd by his friends and neighbors as "Tip" Hain, because of his bearing the cognomen of the hero of the battle of Tippecanoe.
Tip spent his whole life on the old homestead by Old MIll Road in LaGrange Township, being the place of both his birth and death.
In 1860 "Tip" had 135 acres of land in Section 31 which contained a cider mill, a blacksmith shop and a sugar camp (maple sugar).
On the 3 Nov 1863 he was drafted for the Civil War, but was able to pay someone to take his place. (Many of the farmers in this area did this.)
He died of Arterial Selensi 74 yrs-3 mos.-29 days. |
