Rachel Mosella Johnson was the daughter of John C Johnson and Venitus Warthen

 

  • 1869 - Mosella Johnson is born in Washington county Georgia.

  • 1880 - Census, Mosella is listed with her sister Lavannah in the home of her elder grandparents in Washington county Georgia.

  • August 27, 1888 - Mos L Johnson married Jos Herrington in Johnson, co Ga.

  •  November 9, 1888 - Joel Herrington filed a petition filed a petition in Johnson county to retrieve a child from his first marriage. Mosella marriage to Joel appears to have been preoccupied with Joel's persecution of Joel's first wife who he had divorced for adultery.

  • 1890 - Lessie Herrington is born.

  • 1892 - Samuel Lawson Herrington is born.

  • August 24, 1892 - Mosella applied for 12 month support stating her husband Joel Herrington had died on 5/24/1892. In lieu of the $65 of support from the county Mosella opted to require the 30 acre farm.

  • before 1895 - Mosella marries John Mack Sneed.

  • May 1895 - Mary Jane "Janie" Sneed is born.

  • 1897 - Nachain Sneed is born.

  • May 1898 - Clinton Sneed is born.

  • 1900 - Laurens county census Mosella is listed with husband John M Sneed as Mariah and five children.

  • About 1900 -Eight year old  Lawson Herrington "Is giving his freedom" and with his cloths on his back leaves the home of John Mack Sneed. A kind local farmer named Charlie Burch takes him.

  • 1901 - Mosella is declared a Lunatic and is  committed to Central State Hospital, family lore is she lost her sanity over the loss of a child. 

  • After 1901 - Mosella is apparently later released for she has more children. 

  • 1903 - Willie V "Neat" Sneed is born.

  • 1905 - Andrew Hinton Sneed is born.

  • 1907 - William M Sneed is born.

  • 1909 - James Owen Sneed is born.

  • 1912 - Elizabeth Elmiro "Lizzie" Sneed is born.

  • 1914 - Idella Sneed is born.

  • April 26, 1914 - Mosella is again admitted to Central State

  •  January 27, 1919 - Mosella dies at Central State Hospital and is buried somewhere in the Hospital cemetery.
