Jonathan Martin Beard

  

Johnt Beard was the son of Henry Hull Beard and Sara Caroline Pugh. 

  • November 24, 1859 - Johnt Beard is born in Hall county Georgia.

  • December 11, 1859 - Johnt's mother died from complications from childbirth.

  • 1860 census - Johnt and his older brother Franklin Beard are listed living in the home of his maternal grandparents Martin and Mary Pugh in the 1870 census. Johnt is 5 months old

  • September 24, 1861 - Henry Hull Beard enlist in the Confederate Army.

  • June 12, 1862 - Grandfather Martin Pugh dies.

  • April 1865 - Henry Hull Beard returns from the Civil War.

  • August 15, 1865 - Henry Hull Beard marries Nancy Phillips   

  • 1870 census - Johnt Beard listed in home of Mary Pugh. Franklin is living in the home of Henry Hull Beard.

  • January 8, 1880 - Johnt Beard and Georgia Confederacy Hammond marry in Hall county Georgia.

  • 1880 Census - Johnt and Georgia listed in Hall county Georgia.

  • January 8, 1881 - Shelt Beard is born

  • August 3, 1883 - William Ollie Beard born

  • August 13, 1885 - Bessie Beard is born

  • September 2, 1887 - Benjamin Terrell Beard is born.

  • June 6, 1889 - Nora Beard is born.

  • May 8, 1890 - Conley Beard is born.

  • April 17, 1892 - Allie Beard is born.

  • 1900 census - Johnt Beard family listed living in Hall county Georgia.

  • Before 1904 - Bessie Beard marries Harrison Pruitt.

  • December 5, 1903 - Bronzie Beard is born.

  • December 1903 - Georgia Hammond is "put out" by Johnt and goes home to live with here parents with baby Bronzie Beard. Other children stay with Johnt.

  • July 1904 - Johnt Beard shoots and kills his father in law William O Hammond.

  • 1905 - Johnt Beard is declared insane and is committed to Central State Hospital.

  • 1908 - Johnt Beard is declared sane and tried and convicted for the murder of W O Hammond.

  • 1915 - Johnt Beard dies in Prison and is buried in the Pugh family cemetery.
