30th July 1832 Norfolk Assizes:- Robert Gymer sentenced to 7 years deportation. Deported on 6th April 1833 aboard the "Enchantress" to Van Dieman's Land (Tasmania). From the Norfolk Chronicle 4th August 1832 (and Norwich Mercury of same date) Robert was charged with false & malicious perjury in that he had given false evidence against a John Bales, teamerman, in a case of arson in the Witchingham area. Defence stated he had made the deposition to clear himself from implication in arson & not from malicious motives. William Symonds & Richard Neal gave the prisoner a good character. Guilty!

He was working as an advance man for a Carnival in Ohio and Lillian Melva Finn was a fortune teller with the carnival. They married June 8, 1916. Later after operating some ice cream parlors in Ohio Edwin was employed as a Grocery store manager, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, known as the A & P company a very important and national retail grocery chain hired him and he earned a reputation for reorganizing stores that were in trouble. While managing the store in Kalamazoo, Michigan he developed Tuberculosis and was committed to the Sate Sanitorium in Kalamazoo. Upon his release he could not obtain employment and in 1940 committed suicide
