From Leeds Mercury 14th January 1873 & Birmingham Daily Post 17th January, GUYMER a guard on Great Eastern Railway died on Sunday from injuries received though his head striking against a bridge near Wymondham (Norfolk or Leicestershire?). He seems to have got upon the top of the carriage for some purpose for which he could not give account. His head was badly fractured & was he was found on top of the carriage in an unconcious ste. From Patent Rolls Edward III September 18th 1376 membrane 16d Westminster:- Commission of oyer and terminer to John GUYMER and others of his covin and alliance, armed, dug in her turbary at Brunstede, parcel of the manor of Sutton, co. Norfolk, which manor is of the inheritance of John, son and heir of John, late earl of Pembroke, a minor in the king's ward, and is held by her at farm of Anne late the earl's wife, who holds it in dower, carried away the turves thereof, trod down and consumed with cattle her grass there, assaulted her men and servants there and at Suthfeld, and lay in ambush for a long time to kill and do such mischief as they could to her tenants there and so threatened them that they dare not go to their homes and till the lands which they hold of her, whereby she has lost their rents, farms and services and the service of her said men and tenants for a great time.
