Abstracts of the Strawhun Cemetery Association Minutes

Abstracts by Roy E. Strawhun
From copies of minutes faxed to him by his brother Ernest L. Strawhun

Roy Strawhun notes:One of the pages goes has a date of 1887 and reference was made to a "Doc Strawhun something, and The following is what I believe to have been hand written. I have typed as written, bad English and all.

J. R. Strawhun was elected chairman and J.M. Strawhun was elected Secretary. Also (can't read) P.M. Gaddy was elected President and J.R. Strawhun was elected Vice President and J. M. Strawhun was elected Treasurer. Also the association agreed to pay J.R. Strawhun $10.00 for one acre of land. Also it was agreed when that the name of the Cemetery to be named Strawhun Cemetery. (signed) J.R. Strawhun Chairman and J.M. Strawhun Sect."

Sept 1890 Association Minutes - It seems to be saying that P. M. Gaddy was relected as President and A. C. Paulsell was elected as Vice President. This was signed the the "Chairman" whose named seems to be K. A. Collie (maybe Collier).

Any additional minutes, notes, etc. on this cemetery would be most appreciated. If you want to send them to me to be transcribed, I will be glad to do that or, if you would like to transcribe them and send the transcription to me, I will be glad to add it to this page, giving you credit for you efforts. I think that these pages could give us some very important information on our Phelps County ancestors.
