BIOGRAPHY: William L Sibley served in the War of 1812 under Lt Col David Neilson. He became a Baptist in 1825 and began preaching in 1841. He was a pioneer in Washington Parish, Louisiana and, in 1847, he moved to Sabine Parish where he worked with a Father Bray. He helped establsh and build several churches in Louisiana. (The Sibley Family in America - James Scarborough Sibley, author, published in 1982 Vol.I page 790).
