1821 - According to the Minutes of the Tennessee Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, John Paulsell was admitted on trial in 1821. Generally when a minister located, he was leaving the possibility open for him to re-enter the ministry. After 1824, the church no longer kept track of him.
