Frank Moore Oakwood Dies
Frank Moore, 63, of Oakwood died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Oakwood. Mr. Moore was born in Oakwood on March 6, 1887 and spent his entire life there. He was in the cotton gin business.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Oakwood with the Rev. R. B. Bates officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife; one son, Cross of Palestine; one brother, Bill More of Oakwood; one sister, Mrs W.J. Gleen of Stanford.
Pallbearers will be Paul Biggs, Earl Haley, Harvey Maddux, Joe Thomas, Fred Hale, and Doug Maddux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Monroe Redding, J. W. Stroud, W. V. Cutler, O. L. Gragg.

Wednesday Rites for Mrs. Moore
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Moore, 77, of Oakwood will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Oakwood Methodist Church with the Rev. O.B. Hardin and the Rev. Elton Elrod officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Earl Moore, Dal Evans, Lester Rozell, Doug Maddux, Roy Colbert, Roddy Wiley, Paul Biggs and Claud Russell.
Mrs. Moore was born in McLennan County on November 14, 1889, and was a daughter of the late S.R. Cross and Mrs. Dora LaFevre Cross. She had spent most of her life in Oakwood, and was the widow of Richard Frank Moore, Oakwood ginner, who died July 11, 1950. Member of the Oakwood Methodist Church, she died Monday at 10:15 in a local hospital.
Survivors include a son, Cross Moore of Oakwood; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Scarborough of Oakwood; two nieces, Mrs. Roy Varley of Odessa and Mrs. Nell Lambert of Austin.
The body will be at her residence in Oakwood until carried to the church.
Arrangements are by Hassell & Foster.

Norma Moore
Services for Norma "Buck" Moore, 90, of Oakwood, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Alvin
Moore Methodist Church of Oakwood with Rev. Sam Norton officiating. Burial will follow in
Oakwood City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Moore died Thursday moring at Dogwood Trails Advanced Health Care.
She was born March 4, 1911, in Anderson County to Thomas Osman and Josephine Walston
Bell.
Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and a member of the Pilgrim Primitive Baptist Church of
Elkhart. She attended Chambers School and later moved to Palestine and worked with her
sister in a cafe on Oak Street. She later opened Norma's Beauty Shop in Palestine on Neches
Street and later opened Norma's Flower Shop in Oakwood.
She was preceded in death by sister, Lonie Bell Miller, Ina May Bell and Inez Bell and an
infant sister; five brothres, Jasper Alton Bell, Eugene Hiram Bell, Lyman Gilbert Bell, Ernest
Thomas Bell and Douglas Ranson Bell.
Mrs Moore is survived by her husband, Cross Moore of Oakwood.
Pallbearers will be Gary Calcote, Bradley Calcote, Stan Pettiette, Don Rawls, Chad Pettiette,
Jeff James and Josh Pettiette.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services for W.J. (Bill) Moore, 70, of Oakwood,will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the First Methodist Church, Oakwood. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Moore, a lifelong resident of Oakwood, born on September 12, 1890, was a rancher and farmer. He died following a long illness at 8 a.m. today in a Jacksonville nursing home.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Moore of Oakwood; one son, Guy Moore of West Point, Mississippi; and one sister, Mrs. Ella Gleen of Stanford.
The body will be at Hassell & Foster, Palestine, until time for services.

Thomas Guy Moore, 57, of New Orleans, a native of Oakwood, died Saturday afternoon at his
home following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. in Alvin Moore Memorial United Methodist
Church at Oakwood. Officiating will be the Rev. O. B. Hardin, pastor of the church. Burial is
to follow in Oakwood City Cemetery.
Son of Mrs. Ethel Ferguson Moore of Oakwood and the late W. J. Moore, Mr. Moore was born
August 30, 1912. For over 30 years he was a civil engineer for Shell Oil Company and a
member of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. Also, he was a World War II
veteran, serving overseas in Germany.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maxine Moore of New Orleans.
Pallbearers will be Julian Hunt, Bobby Stroud, Milton Griffith, Joe Earl Moore, Frank Ray
Hardin, Nathan Hale, Ottis Pate and Roddy Rawls Wiley.

Services for Maxine Edwards Moore, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Christian
Church of Oakwood, with the Rev. Doug Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood
City Cemetery under direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mrs. Moore died Friday night at Memorial Mother Frances.Hospital.
She was born March 19, 1911 in Oakwood to William and Clara Stroud Edwards.
Mrs. Moore graduated from Texas Christian University andtaught school in Oakwood and
Whitehouse. She was the first woman mayor of Oakwood.
She is survived by a sister, Flossie Tubb of Oakwood.
Pallbearers will be Mac Edward Vannatta, Fred Magouirk, Cross Moore, Brady Edwards, Ron
Reed and F. G. Lipsey.

OAKWOOD--Funeral services for Nettie Moore Hagler, 93, formerly of Oakwood will be at 2 p.m. today in the Moore Memorial Methodist Church here, Dr. Faulk Laudrum officiating. Arrangements are by Cochran Funeral Home of Livington.
Mrs. Hagler died Wednesday at Livington Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1890, a daughter of Johnathan Matthews Moore and Emma Hobbs Moore.
Survivors include a daughter, Johnnye Pearl Gerlach of Livingston, a sister, Pearl Hardin of Oakwood; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

G. S. Moore, 77, of Oakwood died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Alvin Moore Memorial United Methodist Church, Oakwood, with the Rev. O.B. Hardin officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood City Cemetery. The body will be at Hassell & Foster until carried to the church.
Named pallbearers are George C. Hardin, Frank R. Hardin, John S. Moore, Robert A. Moore, Jerry Moore, Robert R. Tubbs, Deck M. Moore and Jim W Harlow, all nephews.
Mr. Moore, born Aug. 4, 1892 to the late J. M. Moore and Mrs. Emma Hobbs Moore, was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Vaiden Moore, on Sept. 29, 1958. Native and lifelong resident of Oakwood, he was a retired ginner and a member of the Alvin Moore Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Joe E. Moore of Oakwood; one daughter, Mrs. Richard W. (Eleanor) Boyd of Fort Worth; two brothers, Alvin Moore and Jimmie D. Moore; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie M. Hagler and Mrs. Pearl M. Hardin, all of Oakwood; one grandson, Richard W. Boyd, Jr. of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Moore of Oakwood Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. G. S. Moore, 63, of Oakwood, will be held today at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Oakwood, with the Rev. L. E. Strickland and the Rev. S. Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore was born June 11, 1895 in Limestone County, and was a member of the Baptist Church. She died Monday at 4:40 p.m. in a local hospital. Survivors are her husband, G. S. Moore of Oakwood; a son, Joe E. Moore of Oakwood; a daughter, Mrs. Richard W. Boyd of Fort Worth; a grandson, Richard W. Boyd Jr. of Fort Worth; and a brother, D. W. Moore of Oakwood.
Arrangements are by Hassell and Foster.

Mrs. Moore was born Aug. 2, 1914 in Paris, Texas, a daughter of John D. and Ollie Osumus
Boyd. She died Thrusday at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler after a lengthy illness. a
Presbyterian, she had resided in Oakwood since 1940. Mrs. Moore formerly lived in Palestine
and worked for Copeland Jewelers, Kolstad Jewelers, and Pratt Jewelers.
Survivors include her husband, Joe E. Moore; a nephew, Dr. Richard W. Boyd, Jr. of Houston
and a brother, Alfred W. Boyd of Stephenville.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Richard W. Boyd of Fort Worth, John D. "Doc" Boyd
Jr. of Palestine, and Homer Boyd of Roxton.
Pallbearers are Bobby Stroud, John Alexander, Bubba Lipsey, Fred Magorik, Mac Edward
Vannatta and Lee Bing.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association,
or a charity of choice, in lieu of flowers.

Services for Pearl Moore Hardin, 92, formerly of Oakwood, will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Alvin Moore United Methodist Church in Oakwood with the Revs. Faulk Landrum and W. A. Newman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood City Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hardin died Saturday in a Kilgore hospital.
She was born Oct. 25, 1894, in Oakwood, a daughter of Jonathan M. and Emma Patton Hobbs Moore. She formerly owned and operated Hardin's Grocery in Oakwood. She served as secretary of Alvin Moore United Methodist Church for 30 years.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, George C. Hardin, in 1958.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Smith of Edinburg and Vaiden Jean Cannon of West Palm Beach Fla.; two sons, George C. Hardin Jr. of Houston and Frank R. Hardin of Kilgore; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Tubbs, Billy Gragg, Bobby Moore, John Stant Moore, Cross Moore, Lee Bing, Lloyd Richmond and Julian Hunt.

A lifelong resident of Oakwood, he was born March 9, 1897. Mr. Moore was in military service during World War I, and was a rancher before retiring. He was a member of the Alvin Moore Memorial United Methodist
Church for many years and was a charter member to the Oakwood Lions Club. A disabled veteran, he was a member of the Palestine Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post 3907 and Johnny W. Cantrell Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 63, Palestine.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Wherry Moore of Oakwood; a son Robert A "Bobby" Moore of Jacksonville; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marian) Williford of Shiner; a brother, Jimmy Moore of Oakwood; two sisters, Pearl Hardin of Oakwood and Nettie Hagler of Livingston; three grandchildren, John R. Williford and Mrs Steve (Ginny) Lappin, both of Houston, and Mrs David (Karen) Fordyce of Garland, and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Adolph Hodges, J.C. Shaver, Cross Moore, Bobby Stroud, Julian Hunt, Lee bing, Mac Edward Vannatta and Earnest Coats.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
