Benjamin married Eunice GREEN "Nicy"¹. Eunice was born^{2, 3} about 1836 in Rutherford Co, NC. She died in Cleveland Co, NC (prob).

I think I might have found her identity. The 1850 census shows a Unicia Green, age 15, in the home of Berry and Roda Green. There is also a child named Roda in the home. I did a little more digging after I found this, and found (on Bill Floyd's excellent Rutherford Co. site) the existence of a marriage bond for Berrymon Green to Rhoda Melton, with Henry Green as bondsman, in 1828. The 1850 census has Berry and Roda aged 43 and 40, so this fits. And the fact that Benjamin and Nicy have a daughter Rhoda in the 1870 census seems to indicated that these were her parents.There are also two entries on WorldConnect for Rhoda Melton. They have her parents as Cornelius Melton and and Dicey Green (listed as the daughter of Shadrack Green, another ancestor of mine). They also list Berryman Green as the son of Henry Green and Nancy Elizabeth Reeves. (Note by Dave Martin 9 Jun 2004)
