Denison - Graveside services for Marvin Lewis Goff of Bonham, 76-year-old retired plumber who died Friday in Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Administration Center in Bonham after a lengthy illness, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Fairview Cemetery.
Rev. Bob Stevens will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home.
Mr. Goff was born in Denison. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Nazarene church.
Surviving are his son, Mr. D. E. Goff of Denison; daughter, Helen McCain of DeSoto; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

BIOGRAPHY: A large man (6'4") with an equally large heart, but he didn't want many people to know.He was named for his first cousin, Willard Savage. In his life, he was a fruit picker, an amatuer boxer, a railroad man, messenger and file worker for the Federal Power Commision (1936-1937), a flour mill foreman and a master sheet metal worker and lived in Denison, TX; Wichita Falls, TX; Ahtanum, Yakima Co, WA; Kentucky; Washington D.C.; California and spent his last years in a little community named Rendon which is just outside of Ft. Worth, TX. He had to quit school to help his family make a living when he was 14. Later, he graduated high school on his own when he was about 20 and taught himself typing, animal husbandry, organic gardening and was always wanting to learn something new. He lead a Christian life. He was raised in the Nazarene Church, but became a Baptist as an adult.

DEATH: Willard Dennis Goff

DEATH: RENDON - Willard Dennis Goff, a retired sheet metal worker, died Saturday at a Fort Worth Hospital. He was 77.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tueday at Retta Baptist Church in Rendon, where he was a member. Burial wil be in Rendon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Burleson.
Mr. Goff was born in Wichita Falls and had lived in Rendon for 34 years.
He had retired in 1980 after 30 years with Lewis & Lambert Co.
Mr. Goff was a member of Deer Creek Lodge No. 292. He enjoyed gardening and working in his home workshop.
The family suggests that memeorials bo made to the Rendon Volunteer Fire Department, 12330 Rendon Road, Burleson 76028.
Survivors- Wife, Frances Goff of Rendon; two sons, Mike Goff of Palestine and James Goff of Burleson; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
(This is a mistake as his first great-great grandchild wasn't born until 22 Mar 2000.)
