The address for the Joseph N. Goff Home is 19 High Street. The house stayed in the Goff family until 1937.

OCCUPATION: "He was engaged in the manufacturing of waffle-irons, clock weights, plow points, hoes and other articles of a similar character, his shop being located directly south of the lake (Poatopang) (This was the company of Goff, Abell and Buell. His father-in-law, Hiram joined the company and, later Hiram and Charles Buell (Hiram's son-in-law) bought out Joseph and Amiel Abell and renamed the company Buell & Veazey. In 1837, he commenced the bell making, which he continued to carry on unitl his death." (Commerative Biographical Record, pg 844) The name of his company is the East Hampton Bell Company which was built on the site of where Moses and Richard Cook had built and operated a grist mill in the 1700s.
