~I need to look for parents of John Fisher in Orangeburg District, SC, Jones Co, GA, and Laurens Co, GA. or in NC. Who was Mary Miles born in 1764 in NC?
John was orphaned at an early age and was adopted by Price Connolly. (Per E. Russ Williams)
John moved to MS sometime in his early life and then moved to LA between 1836 and 1840. There's a Price Connaly listed in Ancestry.com (abt 1783 Chapel Hill, Orange, NC - MS), the son of Thomas Connally and Mary (Polly) Price.gjohnson207@yahoo.com is the submitter for this one. Another entry for Price says that he married a Polly/Mary Corker (Corkern?). There seems to be a strong Corkern thread throughout the Fisher family and there may be an earlier connection than the ones we were unaware of. Could it be that Polly was an aunt to John and she and her husband adopted him after the death of his parents?
There's a John Fisher (carpenter) listed as a carpenter in the tax rolls for 1834 Claiborne Co, MS. There is also a Benjamin Fisher, William Fisher, Elizabeth Fisher and another John Fisher listed.

Was there a brother and mother living with John in 1840? Where was his wife? I can't account for the 0-5 year boy, the 5-10 year old boy and the 20-30 year male as well as the 0-5 year old girl and the 50-60 year old woman living in this household with John and his children unless it's a brother and his children and John's mother. ggh

John married (1) Anastasia Susan TONEY 1, 2 about 1820/1822 in Hinds Co, MS?. Anastasia was born in 1800/1810. She died before 1848.
Researcher Ronnie Fisher reads that her name may be Anitasia.
In looking through some records on Ancestry.com, there is a Benjamin Toney married to an Elizabeth Collins. I haven't found a daughter, Anastasia or Susan born to them yet but John and Anastasia's oldest daughter is named Elizabeth Collins Fisher and their second son is named Benjamin Toney Fisher. Benjamin and Elizabeth Collins Toney's children were born around the time Anastasia could have been born to them. Altogether, it seems to make a pretty compelling argument that Benjamin Toney and Elizabeth Collins are the parents of Anastasia Susan Toney Fisher.
I found Benjamin Toney in the 1820 Washington Parish Census. Here's the listing-

As there is only one daughter listed for Benjamin Toney and Elizabeth Collins in most Toney Family Histories (Catherine born about 1790 and who married Stephen Lee), there seems to be some daughters that family historians haven't listed. (See the females between 18-26 and the female under 10 years of age.) I believe that one of the females aged 18-26 is Anastasia Susan "Stacy" Toney.
In Benjamin Toney's book TONEY - THE FIRST MILLENIUM, pg 107, he notes that Anastasia is probably a daughter of Benjamin Toney and Elizabeth Collins for the reasons I have stated but he also cites that William M. Toney, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth, bought land adjacent to John Fisher in Scott County as well as the fact that another son James C and Mary Toney, Elizabeth Toney (possibly Elizabeth Collins Toney), Littleberry and Mary Holland (whom he believes might be another daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth), John and Anastasia Toney Fisher and James Ellington are dismissed by letter from the Palestine Baptist Church in Hinds County, Mississippi near Raymond to start a new church - Sister's Spring Baptist Church. He also notes that when John Fisher sold his land, he sold it to Wade Holland, a possible son of Littleberry and Mary Holland and Charles F. Toney sold his land in Scott County to a Charles Fisher, possible brother of John. Obviously, there is still a lot of research to be done on this but a preponderance of "coincidence" and facts seem to be pointing to the conclusion of Anastasia Susan "Stacy" Toney's parents as being Benjamin Toney and Elizabeth Collins.
They had the following children:
John also married 1 (2) Winefred RICHARDSON "Winney" in 1850/1860 in Washington Parish, LA. Winney was born 2, 3, 4 about 1805 in Bulloch Co, GA. She died on 26 Jun 1861 in Franklinton, Washington Parish, LA.
John also married (3) Penelope SIBLEY 1, 2, daughter of Rev William Lansford SIBLEY and Elizabeth WATSON, in 1870/1880 in Washington Parish, LA. Penelope was born 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 on 9 Jun 1829 in Washington Parish, LA. She died 9 on 5 Oct 1916 in Franklinton, Washington Parish, LA and was buried 10 in Varnado Cemetery, Franklinton, Washington Parish, LA.
