Peter was one of the trustees of the Dutch Anabaptist Society, which organized in Worcester Township, Montgomery County. Others on the committee were Henry Rittenhouse and wife Martha, Jacob Stem, Christopher Zimmerman, Conrad Stem, Peter Keyser, Frederick Baker, and Frederick Marsteller. Most of these surnames intermarried with the Custer family. Peter died on October 1768 and left a will dated 28 Sep 1768. In one of the histories of Montgomery County the statement appears that he came from Switzerland; however, this is incorrect. Ann died 1765. (Note by Grace Ebneter)

50. Gutrude CUSTER (Hermanus Streypers CUSTER , Paulus CUSTER , Arnold Arets , Johannes , Reinhart \ Reiner , Ololus ) was born¹ in 1711 in Krefeld, Germany. She died² in 1760 in Worcester, Philadelphia, PA. Gutrude was born³ in 1708 in Krefeld, Germany.

Gutrude married¹ Henry UMSTED in 1739. Henry was born^{2, 3} in 1708. He died in 1788.

In 1768, Henry Umstat purchased a farm in Oaks, Pennsylvania, from the Pauling estate. His son John built the main portion of the building (remaining in 1926) in 1785, shortly after the Revolution. He deeded land from his farm for a public school in 1802. It was built and remained for years under the contol of neighbors whom he appointed as trustees. The school stood opposite the present church at Green Tree. John's son Jonas inherited the mansion and the farm, which was then passed on to his son John Horning, a preacher. John Horning founded the Dunkard Church at Green Tree, Oaks, Pennsylvania. His daughter Fannie (Mrs. Milton I. Davis) passed the property to her daughter Sallie who married Francis V.
