Note for: Maria Famularo, - UNKNOWN
Index
There appears to be an error with Maria - according to Joe Russo, she is
the second wife of Domenico Giuffre, mother of Gaetano Giuffre; however
according to John Virgona, she is the mother of Carolina Castellano.

(by Mildred Rhine Guiffre, date unknown, but probably before 1950)
As I remember, Linwood was a likable boy. Michael and I visited the
family in Forest Glen, Maryland on Sunday PM. It was a sunny, warm day
and we gathered outside the house in talk. Linwood was in bed with a
headache but he joined in the talk thru the window. His headache grew
worse. I do not know why he was taken into Washington and not to the
Sanitorium where he would have normally gone. His death was diagnosed as
meningitis of the front lobe of the brain. As this was just before
'Pearl Harbor', Buddy was away with the National Guard for training but
did return for the funderal. Since Charles and Josephine were married
and away, it was Buddy and Virginia who helped to 'run' the family.

There is a Francesco Marcellino listed on the passenger list (#633) of
the SS Caledonia which arrived in New York in 1888, the same ship Gaetano
Guiffre and his three children were on. The age of Francesco was 38,
which would have fit since it is believed that they arrived in America
together.

It seems they have an anniversary rememberance at Mt Olivet Cemetery for
this lady Vincenzina every year. They called her Mama Ronnie.

Married in 1896. Migration to USA took place prior to 1897.
Vincenzina's death is listed in Mt Olivet Cemetery records as January
1962. She must have been born
in 1873 in order to have been 37 yrs old in 1910. Therefore, she was
about 89 years old at her death (and not 92 yrs as listed in the cemetery
records).
According to 1910 census, they had 8 children with only 6 living in 1910,
therefore, Cosmo must have died prior to 1910. Don't know who the other
child was. Frank must have then been born after 1910.

Dear Donna,
Ain't this a kick? :)
Thanks for including me into your sites. I've poked around in both
already.
I posted the text of Mary's obit notice on the rootsweb site. There's a
photo
of the notice already in the myfamily.com photo album, but I'll be glad
to
send you a hard copy if you like.
I'll definitely get the photo Charles's tombstone scanned so it can be
posted.
As for Rachel, I don't have anything on her aside from her dates and
places of birth, marriage, and death and information regarding her
children.
Supposedly she is some relation (a niece? second cousin? I'm not sure.)
to President John Tyler, but I've not confirmed anything on that yet.
I'll close for now and send details of Annie's family next time I write.
I
just realized it's time to leave for work :)
Take care,
Elizabeth
