It's the year you wait for all your life. The year that forever changed mine.

Without a worry in the world, out on the town, just me and the girls.

Twenty-one and life to go, dancing drinking and good old rock and roll.

A few too many drinks I knew I had. But getting toasted was our plan.

Now I am doing 13 years for killing my best friend.

I try to recall the whole night, but I still can't picture that pavement ends sign in my mind

I had no idea that night would be the end. It was not my intention to lose my dearest friend.

I can hear her scream each time I close my eyes.

I see her covered in blood begging me not to let her die.

Her last word to me, I will never forget. It's not your fault is what she said.

It was then that I realized she was dead.

A few too many drinks I knew I had. But getting toasted was our plan.

Now I am doing 13 years for killing my best friend.
